The Senior Project Manager has overall responsibility for the technical, budget, schedule, administrative and financial execution of individual projects. Has responsibility for financial performance on assigned projects. The position may be assigned to several projects concurrently. It may also be assigned to perform specific marketing-related functions, including the presentation of company qualifications for project opportunities and the preparation of proposals. Projects are typically executed on an independent basis, with assistance from assigned staff, though subject to independent quality assurance and financial/management performance audits.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop budgets, schedules, and profit objectives for assigned projects, within the requirements of contracts and subject to the approval of Regional Management.
  • Take the lead in negotiating budgets, schedules, project terms, and conditions on specific proposal opportunities.
  • Work with Regional Management to establish staffing requirements in support of project execution.
  • Initiate project setup to initiate and maintain project management files for assigned projects.
  • In charge of various tasks necessary to execute project requirements.
  • Provide direction and oversight to various employees that are assigned to projects.
  • Assure projects are executed within the approved budget and schedule and in accordance with company Quality requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
  • Participate in marketing the company's services to client contacts and to new clients as assigned by Regional Management.
  • Assist Regional Management in the evaluation of employee performance, and in identifying employee training and development needs.
  • Assist in training and mentoring of project employees.
  • Assure that invoices are properly prepared in accordance with contractual terms and are issued to clients in a timely manner.
  • Work with Financial Services Group to ensure that payment on outstanding invoices is forthcoming in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit time charge records, expense reports, invoice approvals, and collections status notices in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 50% or more of the time as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Located near a port is preferred to support cruise and maritime operations
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) required

  • Ability to gain, retain, illustrate comprehension of learned technical knowledge, and transfer knowledge to other members of the team
  • Ability to mentor/coach mid-level consultants and hone project management skills in others
  • Ability to actively listen to the needs of our clients by receiving shared information, determining context of the information provided and generating probing questions to better understand, retaining the information for future access, engaging and collaborating with sales team on potential opportunities, and responding with solutions
  • Openly accept change as part of business evolution to meet the needs of our clients, provide recommendations to enhance business, and drive change amongst colleagues and on assigned projects
  • Possess a firm understanding of key performance indicators and their significance to the business and take action to drive results amongst their department
  • Ability to utilize established rapport and role as a subject matter expert with existing clients to facilitate development of new business through identifying and consistently generating new business opportunities
  • Ability to coach mid-level consultants on development of customer intimacy and new opportunities

  • Must understand departmental goals and holds self and team members accountable for keeping commitments and high standards

Salary:

$115k - $125k

Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to Group Manager or Regional Manager
