    TITLE: Senior Project Manager

    JOB OVERVIEW: The Senior Project Manager leads large, complex projects across the hospital and affiliated ambulatory locations, managing multiple concurrent initiatives using Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies. This role ensures projects meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives while delivering operational, clinical, and financial value.

    The Senior Project Manager provides expertise in project execution, governance, and change management; applies EPMO standards and tools consistently; and supports less-experienced project managers through guidance and mentorship. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to influence stakeholders, resolve challenges, and navigate complex healthcare and technology environments. The role requires a hands-on, organization-wide approach, partnering across clinical operations, IT, quality, HR, finance, supply chain, and facilities to deliver cross-functional initiatives.

    DEPARTMENT: Enterprise Project Management Office

    WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p; hours may vary as required to fulfill responsibilities and meet department needs.

    REPORTS TO: Manager, Enterprise Project Management Office

    PREREQUISITES:

    • Bachelor''s degree required; degree in Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience, including leading large, complex initiatives supporting hospital or healthcare delivery environments.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Project required; experience with the project portfolio management tool ServiceNow SPM, highly desired.

    • Experience working within a structured PMO and working in project budget management required.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent initiatives without direct supervisory authority.

    • Proficiency in PMI-aligned project methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).

    • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

    • Prosci Change Management Certification or other closely aligned certification preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven ability to communicate across all organizational levels.

    • Strong skills using Microsoft tools; Visio, Teams, Power Point, Word and Excel.

    • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint for collaboration and document management.

    • Experience working within ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management highly desired.

    • Experience managing healthcare technology and operational initiatives, including EHR, ERP, and integrated hospital systems.

    UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Core business hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, this role requires flexibility to meet organizational and project needs.

    • Hybrid work environment: when working remotely, employees must maintain a professional, secure, and ergonomically appropriate home workspace. (Monitors, laptop, keyboard, and mouse will be provided.)

    • Employees are expected to ensure they can fully perform their job responsibilities during scheduled work time and maintain a work environment free from ongoing personal distractions.

    • Business casual attire is required when on-site and while participating in video meetings.

    • Participation in video meetings with camera enabled may be required in accordance with department guidelines.

    • Occasional to frequent travel to Valley Medical Center and network ambulatory locations is required to support projects and operational needs.

    • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.

    • Ability to lift and set up equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.

    • Essential Responsibilities and Competencies:

    • Project Management Expertise

    • Apply advanced project management methods to lead large, complex, cross-functional projects with significant operational, financial, or clinical impact, ensuring successful delivery aligned with organizational priorities.

    • Partner with project sponsors, stakeholders, and operational leaders to define project scope, requirements, risks, staffing, budgets, and implementation approach.

    • Develop comprehensive project documentation including charters, business cases, work plans, integrated schedules, and financial forecasts using PMI-aligned methodologies.

    • Apply standardized EPMO governance frameworks, tools, and methodologies to ensure consistent project delivery and reporting.

    • Manage multiple concurrent projects and workstreams while maintaining alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and strategic objectives.

    • Integrate scope, schedule, resources, risks, and financial management across multiple workstreams.

    • Ensure consistent application of EPMO governance, standards, and project management best practices.

    • Ensure effective project closeout including lessons learned, performance evaluation, and transition of deliverables to operational teams.

    • Align project objectives with organizational priorities and operational strategies.

    • Anticipate organizational impacts and ensure project outcomes support measurable operational, financial, or clinical value.

    • Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving

    • Proactively identify complex risks, dependencies, and operational barriers.

    • Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests; develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues when appropriate.

    • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project progress with minimal escalation.

    • Communication

    • Communicate complex project information clearly to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership.

    • Provide clear and transparent status reporting to project sponsors, governance committees, and senior stakeholders.

    • Serve as liaison across departments, leadership teams, affiliates, and vendors to ensure effective coordination and communication.

    • Facilitate governance meetings, executive briefings, and structured status reporting.

    • Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

    • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders.

    • Influence stakeholders to resolve issues, align priorities, and maintain project momentum. Facilitate project steering committees and governance reviews to support oversight and decision making.

    • Team Leadership

    • Lead large cross-functional project teams and drives engagement and accountability without direct authority.

    • Assign and monitor tasks of project teams, and coordinate with resource managers to secure appropriate staffing and expertise required for successful project execution.

    • Financial Stewardship

    • Accountable for comprehensive financial management of large, complex projects.

    • Manage capital and operating budgets for assigned projects including cost estimation, financial forecasting, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
