Job Title: Project Manager - Manufacturing Machinery

Job Description

This role oversees complex machinery projects from order intake through commissioning, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal production teams, coordinating technical requirements, monitoring financial performance, and supporting final inspections for equipment used primarily in water and wastewater treatment applications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and facilitate project progression from order intake through commissioning, ensuring all milestones are achieved on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external customers, maintaining clear, professional, and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and run communications with internal production, engineering, and execution teams to align project requirements and resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, track financial performance, and escalate variances or risks as needed.
  • Participate actively in project milestone production meetings, providing status updates, identifying risks, and driving action items to completion.
  • Spearhead equipment final inspections as intermediate quality checks to verify that machinery meets specifications and customer expectations.
  • Create and maintain project-related spreadsheets and documentation to track schedules, costs, and deliverables.
  • Interpret and work from plan drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate execution of machinery projects.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects under deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal execution teams, ensuring technical and commercial requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Support projects involving OEM equipment design and manufacturing, particularly for water and wastewater treatment machinery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes within the manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

  • Solid experience in project management within a manufacturing environment, particularly with machinery.
  • Experience as a Project Manager in manufacturing, with exposure to OEM equipment and manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret plan drawings and technical specifications.
  • Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets to track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Superior customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with external customers and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to work under deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as an effective liaison between customers and internal execution teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in OEM equipment design and manufacturing is a plus.
  • Engineering or manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with municipal and/or government contracts for mechanical equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in projects related to water, wastewater, or similar treatment facilities is advantageous.
  • Prior experience working with machinery for industrial or infrastructure applications is beneficial.

Work Environment

The role operates within a small, focused team of four Project Managers who report into the sales leadership structure. The primary focus is on machinery for water and wastewater treatment projects, serving customers such as towns, cities, counties, and international municipalities. The organization also maintains a smaller textile machinery division, so occasional projects may involve textile customers, although the majority of work centers on waste water machinery. The environment is collaborative and technically oriented, with regular interaction between sales, engineering, and production teams, and an emphasis on structured project meetings, budget oversight, and quality-focused equipment inspections.
