JOB SUMMARY

Manages the design and construction of generation, transmission, substation, and distribution projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. Performs project management activities including managing project budgets, creating and maintaining project schedules, managing project scopes, managing project risks, monitoring and tracking projects, and reporting project status. Ensures project safety, compliance with the AFE policy, and effective communications and coordination with customers, key stakeholders, and management..

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsibilities are varied and complex. May work outside area of assigned duties. Expert in own area of responsibility. Works independently. Resolves complex problems within area of responsibility. Identifies opportunities and innovative solutions. Recommends changes in procedures. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Authority to make decisions related to job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develops timetables and priorities for execution of all design and construction activities of the project.
• Develops project management plans that include project scope verification, project schedules, timelines, milestones, budget estimates, cash flows, work breakdown structures, and resource requirements.
• Collaborates with project management, planning, land management, design, construction, operations, resource coordination, and supply chain personnel.
• Directs and coordinates various OG&E and contractor activities to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Projects typically involve 1-3 disciplines or asset types (e.g. distribution, transmission, substation, controls, communication, boiler, turbine, etc.). May work on projects with lower complexity and risk as needed.
• Typically manage projects from $150k to $5M with high complexity and risk (B projects). Higher complexity projects could include quality/reliability issues to a large number of customers, moderate financial risk, some self-perform/oversight required, some environmental/regulatory permitting, and/or multiple configuration changes.
• Responsible for funding, financial analysis, and reporting status on each project.
• Ensures compliance with AFE policy.
• Responsible for oversight of design, construction, and commissioning of large or complex projects.
• Evaluates need for contract assistance.
• Ensures resource requirements are organized and forecasted to facilitate efficient utilization and capacity planning.
• Ensures complete and timely project closeout including after-action reviews to achieve continuous improvement.
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management and 6 years related experience (Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or Utility Operations); Or
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management and 5 years Project Management experience (experience performing initiation, planning, monitor and control, executing, and closing of a project); Or
• Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management and 9 years related experience (Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or Utility Operations); Or
• High School Diploma/GED and 12 years related experience (Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or Utility Operations).
• 1 year of experience leading projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing electric utility distribution or reliability-focused projects
• Desire to meet and exceed customer expectations
• Leadership skills, including ability to influence others and achieve measurable results
• Experience creating project plans and managing to those plans
• Experience developing and optimizing processes to improve project workflow efficiency and execution
• Effective communication skills which include: articulating our company vision, providing guidance or instruction, giving and receiving feedback, and ability to collaborate with internal and external customers, provide clear and detailed expectations
• PMP certification
• Experience creating, routing, and tracking AFEs
• Experience forecasting and managing a budget
• Experience providing monthly accruals for accounting
• SAP Experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Required to travel to Company offices and work sites including overnight trips.
• Required to work non-standard (evenings & weekend) hours to accommodate customers and extensive hours to meet deadlines.
• Outdoor work environment requiring ability to traverse rough terrain, be exposed to inclement weather, and wear PPE.
• Office environment including computer work.

• Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.

• Demonstrated computer skills with ability to use application software including SAP, CCS, CRTS, ArcFM, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to oversee, plan, coordinate, track, and complete large, complex projects as well as multiple smaller projects meeting desired project outcomes within specified time and budget constraints.
• Demonstrated desire to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.

SALARY RANGE

$96,262 - $128,357
