Job Summary

The Corporate Function Program Management Office (CFPMO) is seeking an experienced project manager to support the Corporate Finance and Enterprise Risk initiatives. In this role, you will report directly to the Portfolio Lead and be accountable for the planning, day-to-day execution, management, implementation, and reporting of projects while using the defined project management (PM) processes and standards. The CFPMO PM process is designed to support the CFPMO's mission to increase the value impact of change efforts across Financial's corporate functions. As a Project Manager, you will execute by following a standardized process for project initiation, planning, execution, and close. Project managers will partner and support project sponsors and portfolio lead in developing required detailed project artifacts tailored to project complexity.

This portfolio oversees the execution of initiatives across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, and Investment Management as well as defines and owns project management standards across the company. The team is focused on driving and aligning critical programs and projects across our Corporate Functions, creating more visibility into this work, while enabling better prioritization, collaboration, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Sponsors and Functional Managers to compile Discovery artifacts such as a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), Project Charter, high-level Resource Plan, and high-level Milestone Plan to be reviewed to receive Discovery Funding
  • Develop and maintain required Detailed Planning artifacts and manage plan execution
  • Determine project scope and manage scope execution
  • Develop financial forecasts, record cost variance, anticipate and address delivery challenges, and request budget changes if needed following associated Change Request Process
  • Develop high-level milestones during Discovery and develop detailed project schedules during Detailed Planning
  • Based on complexity assessment and with guidance on each project, refine the resource plan, develop a RACI Matrix, conduct a Key-Person Risk Assessment, and Third-Party Support Needs Assessment
  • Ensure early identification, resolution, and escalation of project risks through maintenance of Risk and Issue Log and project Pre-Mortem activity
  • Accountable for meeting all business requirements from development through implementation

Required Skills

  • Strong Financial Services domain experience required
  • Experience in finance, regulatory, and risk domains
  • Proven ability in building and managing project plans
  • Hands-on experience with MS Project (a must)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Ability to develop both project plans and business plans
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle management
  • PMO experience
  • Must be concise, clear, and confident when serving as Single Source of Information (SME) dealing with business contacts and others
  • Adhere to all standards for business cases and project plans

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in finance and treasury functions
  • Experience with remediation and regulatory projects
  • Candidates with experience working at organizations such as Wellington Management, Fidelity Investments, State Street Corporation, or Deutsche Bank

Required Experience

  • 7 years of project management experience
  • 1 year of experience in project management software including but not limited to MS Project, Smartsheet, and Jira

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • 7 years of project management experience, 2 within a PMO
  • 3 years of experience leading projects impacting core Investment Manager, Financial and Capital Market systems and business processes
  • Proven success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to scope
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies i.e. Agile or Waterfall
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and expertise
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred
