Project Manager – Technical

Location: McLean/Richmond – Preferred
Duration: 3 months – through the end of the year
Pay Rate: $45 - $50 hr.W2 without benefits 

Project Overview

The team is responsible for enterprise-wide knowledge management, technical documentation, operating manuals, instructions, and software documentation. The organization supports approximately 44 platforms across 10 lines of business and manages a significant volume of documentation production, delivery, and program coordination.

This is also a highly technical project environment involving the development and support of tools and platforms throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The technology landscape includes APIs, data integration and exchange, data technologies, ETL processes, Generative AI, and Machine Learning.

The Project Manager will support program management, Agile/Scrum execution, product management, and technical delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating project execution, supporting product and platform launches, and ensuring smooth delivery across multiple initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and team meetings.
• Maintain and manage Jira boards, project plans, documentation, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and overall execution.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across technical projects and business objectives.
• Support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and technical project execution.
• Coordinate the development and launch of new products, platforms, tools, and technology solutions.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, blockers, and escalation items.
• Maintain a consistent weekly project cadence and provide visibility into goals, progress, and execution.
• Work independently and proactively to identify opportunities for process improvement and apply project management best practices.
• Partner with technical teams working with APIs, data exchange, ETL, data technologies, GenAI, and Machine Learning.
• Support product launches and ensure projects are operationally ready for delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Several years of technical project/program management experience.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and managing Jira boards.
• Technical background with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and technical project delivery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with minimal direction.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, risks, and dependencies.
• Experience supporting or launching technology products, platforms, or applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Knowledge Management.
• Background in technical writing, content design, information architecture, content production, or documentation management.
• Experience in MarTech or other technology-focused environments.
• Exposure to Generative AI, Machine Learning, or AI-enabled products and platforms.
• Experience working with technical teams involved in APIs, data integration, ETL, or data exchange.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on Technical Project Manager who can quickly step into an established environment, understand the work, establish project cadence, and operate independently. They should be comfortable working with technical teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing project execution, and communicating effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
