Overview
Kimley-Horn''s Richmond, Virginia (VA) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join their Transit team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit and rail design projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to passenger, commuter, freight, industrial rail, light rail, and bus rapid transit projects.
Various tasks may include concept through final design, exhibit development, program management responsibilities, railroad coordination, and corridor development.
This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination.
Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.
Candidate will be expected to manage or support managing larger projects including overseeing teams, workload, resources and compliance with scope, schedule, budget, quality and financial performance of projects.
Candidate will participate in client management and marketing efforts including business development and help securing additional work.
Qualifications
Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
6+ years of transit-focused engineering experience including:
Track/guideway design
Transit corridor design
Roadway design
Station design (beneficial)
Drainage design (beneficial)
Outgoing, self-motivated team player
High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or high level of proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads/OpenRail
Experience communicating and working with clients
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects
