A bit about us:
Our client is a leading national wealth management organization serving high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, executives, and institutions. The firm provides sophisticated investment management, financial planning, tax, estate planning, and other wealth management services to clients across the country.
With a strong platform, continued growth, and an increasingly sophisticated operating environment, the organization is investing in the processes, technology, infrastructure, and operating models necessary to support its next stage of growth.
This is an opportunity to join that transformation at an important point in the organization's evolution.
Why join us?
This is not a traditional Project Manager role.
You won't simply be responsible for maintaining project plans, coordinating meetings, tracking timelines, and managing deliverables. You will have real ownership over the assessment and transformation of a critical business function.
You will evaluate the current Billing & Revenue Management environment, identify gaps and opportunities, define the future-state operating model, develop the transformation roadmap, and then help drive that roadmap through execution.
You'll work closely with senior leaders across Billing, Wealth Management, Innovation, Technology, Finance, and other key functions, providing broad exposure to a significant organizational transformation and the opportunity to influence decisions at the leadership level.
This is an ideal engagement for a consultant who enjoys solving complex business problems, getting into the details, developing practical solutions, influencing stakeholders, and then staying close to the work to ensure those solutions are successfully implemented.
What Makes This Engagement Compelling?
High-impact work: Your recommendations and execution will directly influence how a critical business function operates and scales.
End-to-end ownership: Take the organization from current-state assessment through target operating model, transformation roadmap, and implementation.
Executive exposure: Partner with senior leaders across multiple functions and help drive alignment and decision-making.
Strategic + hands-on: Combine operational analysis, strategy, business case development, process improvement, and execution.
Long-term engagement: Make a lasting impact through a transformation initiative that extends well beyond a short-term project.
Sophisticated environment: Work at the intersection of wealth management, billing, revenue, technology, data, controls, and operating processes.
Build for scale: Help establish processes, governance, KPIs, controls, reporting, and capabilities designed to support continued growth.
Job Details
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager / Business Transformation Consultant to lead the assessment and transformation of Billing & Revenue Management.
The consultant will establish a fact-based understanding of the current state, identify gaps and opportunities, define a Billing-specific target operating model, develop the transformation roadmap, and drive execution through implementation.
This is a highly visible, hands-on consulting engagement requiring someone who can operate independently, move with urgency, develop rigorous analysis and recommendations, and maintain momentum with limited oversight.
The successful individual will be comfortable taking ownership of ambiguous or complex situations, anticipating what needs to happen next, engaging senior stakeholders, challenging constructively, and driving accountability through execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a structured, end-to-end assessment of the current Billing & Revenue Management operating model, identifying gaps, risks, capabilities, inefficiencies, and opportunities for scale.
Analyze current processes, workflows, systems, data, controls, governance, organizational capabilities, and performance metrics.
Develop rigorous, executive-ready deliverables, including:
Current-state and future-state process documentation
End-to-end workflow analysis
Quantitative and gap analysis
Business requirements
Business cases
Vendor evaluations
Executive recommendations
Define the Billing target operating model, establishing future-state capabilities across people, process, technology, data, controls, governance, and performance.
Develop and prioritize a comprehensive transformation roadmap aligned with broader Wealth Management transformation initiatives.
Build and implement scalable operating capabilities, including standardized processes and procedures, controls, service levels, KPIs, metrics, reporting, and training.
Establish effective project governance, including project plans, milestones, decision forums, dependencies, risks, issues, accountability, and measures of success.
Represent Billing & Revenue Management in broader transformation initiatives and cross-functional programs.
Partner closely with Innovation, Technology, Finance, Wealth Management, and other senior stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable solutions.
Lead discussions, present recommendations, challenge constructively, facilitate alignment, and drive decisions.
Independently advance the transformation roadmap, maintaining accountability and momentum through execution.
Proactively identify barriers, resolve issues, and escalate decisions or support when necessary.
Maintain senior leadership visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, and outcomes.
Qualifications
7+ years of project management and/or business transformation experience, with a demonstrated track record of independently leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from assessment and strategy through implementation.
Experience within Wealth Management, RIA, or a closely related financial services environment is required.
Experience with advisory fee billing and/or revenue management is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience conducting end-to-end operational assessments and translating findings into target operating models, transformation roadmaps, and successful implementations.
Strong quantitative, analytical, process improvement, and root-cause analysis skills.
Ability to personally develop business cases, recommendations, presentations, and executive-ready deliverables.
Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with limited oversight.
Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, decisions, and execution across teams that may not report directly to you.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
PMP certification strongly preferred.
Lean Six Sigma or comparable process improvement certification is a plus.
The Ideal Consultant:
The ideal consultant is someone who can zoom out to see the strategic picture and zoom in to understand how the work actually gets done.
You are comfortable entering an environment where not everything is already defined, asking the right questions, analyzing the facts, developing a point of view, and taking ownership of moving the organization forward.
You don't wait to be told what to do next. You anticipate it.
You can speak comfortably with operational teams about workflows and processes while also presenting a recommendation, business case, or transformation roadmap to senior leadership.
You are analytical without getting lost in the analysis. You are strategic without losing sight of execution. And you're comfortable challenging existing processes when the facts indicate there is a better way.
Most importantly, you enjoy transformation work where the expectation isn't simply to recommend change — it's to help make the change happen.
This is an opportunity to:
Lead a highly visible transformation. Build the future-state operating model. Partner with senior leadership. And leave a lasting impact on a critical function within a sophisticated, growing wealth management organization.
If you're an experienced Wealth Management transformation professional who thrives on complex problems, high visibility, and meaningful ownership, we'd like to hear from you.
