Project Manager Sr

Job Summary:



This position will be located at the Energy Center and will provide project management support for technology-related Generation projects across the Southern Company footprint. The Project Manager Sr will serve as the Technology Organization liaison to Generation Planning and Construction, coordinating technology requirements, resources, and project deliverables.





Primary Job Responsibilities:




+ Provide project management support for assigned projects from planning and execution through closeout and turnover.

+ Coordinate project scope, estimates, schedules, budgets, cost tracking, progress reporting, and closeout documentation with internal teams and business partners.

+ Serve as the Technology Organization liaison to Generation Planning and Construction by coordinating technology requirements, resources, and deliverables.

+ Lead project meetings, provide status updates, communicate risks or needs, and support timely completion of project milestones.

+ Plan work activities, coordinate contractors, obtain quotes, manage purchase orders, and track project costs using appropriate company systems.





Education & Experience:




+ Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

+ Three to five years of experience in telecommunications, data networking, IT infrastructure, or a related technical field is preferred.

+ Experience leading or supporting projects in a formal or informal project management capacity is highly desired.

+ Experience in outside plant construction, utility, or industrial environments is highly desired.





Knowledge & Skills:




+ Safety and wellness practices, including Southern Company Safety and Wellness programs and plant/construction safety expectations.

+ Telecommunications, networking, and related infrastructure technologies, including data, voice, fiber, wireless, and BICSI standards.

+ Generation and plant operational technologies, including distributed control systems, metering, protection systems, monitoring systems, physical security, and related technologies.

+ Cybersecurity, end-user technologies, and technology support processes related to project design, engineering, construction, and implementation.

+ Leadership, collaboration, organization, communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
