The role

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Paralegal to join our dynamic Legal and Project team. This role is ideal for a proactive legal professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments and enjoys supporting complex construction, infrastructure, governance, and litigation matters.

 

Working closely with Project Legal Counsel and the Vice President, Design & Construction, the successful candidate will play a critical role in legal research, contract administration, litigation support, compliance coordination, and legal operations. This position offers broad exposure across commercial contracting, dispute resolution, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and project delivery.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll be responsible for:

 

Legal & Litigation Support

  • Provide legal, factual, administrative, and confidential support related to contractor claims, settlement discussions, mediation, and litigation matters
  • Maintain electronic file organization, document control systems, and legal databases
  • Conduct legal research using statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal resources
  • Research and analyze legal authorities for use in preparing contracts, legal opinions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
  • Draft, review, proofread, and cite-check legal memoranda, correspondence, and supporting legal documents
  • Assist with investigations, discovery preparation, document review, and trial support activities
  • Coordinate litigation and dispute matters, including document collection, subpoenas, and external counsel engagement

Contract & Corporate Support

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, customer, partnership, and data-related contracts
  • Track contractual obligations and support contract lifecycle management processes
  • Support Project Legal Counsel across commercial contracting, compliance, regulatory, governance, and operational legal matters
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives and operational priorities

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Assist with compliance program administration, including policy management, internal reporting, and training coordination
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal workflows, systems, and operational processes
  • Support implementation of scalable legal and administrative best practices
  • Organize and summarize large volumes of information while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines
Qualifications:

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant paralegal or legal operations experience
  • Experience supporting litigation, construction, infrastructure, or commercial contracting matters preferred
  • Experience working within a regulated industry is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and legal research methodologies
  • Knowledge of court systems, litigation processes, and legal documentation
  • Familiarity with commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters
  • Understanding of project management principles and construction contract delivery methods is an asset
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and developing practical solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint
  • Ability to create clear, compelling, and visually engaging presentations tailored to diverse audiences
  • Experience managing legal documentation systems and databases

The salary range for this position is $82,000 - $92,000 annually.

 

This is an on-site position based in the United States, with preference given to candidates located in or near the JFK Airport / New York City area.
