You will report to the Manager of Programs.
The responsibilities of the Project Planner are as varied as the portfolio of projects themselves. You would be in the thick of everyday management of projects, using and growing your technical project management skills. You will also use your relationship skills to motivate others and resolve conflict to help keep the team on task and progressing per the schedule to achieve the goals of the mission.
Attend Walt Disney Imagineering creative review showing ideas for how to theme a project.
Walk an existing project that is under construction to help update the project schedule for us.
Enter project data into our project management software system to ensure that projects are documented and up to date for us.
Participate in a site visit with a vendor to help solve issues that have arisen as they fabricate materials for a project.
Sit in a weekly project meeting with the team documenting the status of project deliverables, who has action items, and when they are due.
Gather information for the Project Manager and help prepare Invitations to Bid, Scopes of Work, Requests for Information, and other important project documents.
Compile project completion lists to identify items that remain to be done to complete a project.
Attend a grand opening of a new Guest offering that you were a part of designing, planning, and building.
Basic knowledge of building construction practices and materials.
Basic knowledge of construction and project management processes and purchasing/contract management.
Basic knowledge of construction finance (budgets, cash flows).
Well-defined organizational tactics to balance time according to priority.
Comfort with understanding and conveying written and verbal data and analysis to partners at all levels.
Experience with computer programs.
Experience reviewing and making updates to construction project schedules.
Understanding of construction project estimates – how to read and interpret them and apply them to the project scope and project drawings.
1+ year of experience in the commercial construction industry.
Internship or Co-op Program in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline.
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
Advanced Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
