Job Summary

This role provides analytical and complex project management on a variety of UC Davis Health's Children's Hospital activities. Primarily, this role manages program planning for the Best Children's Hospital, US News Survey. Best Children's Hospital is a detailed survey that looks at measures such as patient safety, infection prevention and adequacy of nurse staffing to rank nearly 200 medical centers in 10 pediatric specialties. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business related area, or equivalent experience or training
  • Three (3) years of recent experience with hospital quality or regulatory programs and healthcare analytics
  • Experience in preparing written reports and summaries in a concise, comprehensive and organized manner that contains accurate information
  • Progressive experience in health system administration, health care planning, business administration, or public administration, or a satisfactorily equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Extensive experience with proven project management methodologies
  • Experience with strategic planning, analytical and program evaluation
  • Broad knowledge of the healthcare industry, including current trends
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytic skills to evaluate healthcare data, utilize databases and query tools, draw conclusion, develop and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations
  • Proficiency in preparing written reports and summaries in a concise, comprehensive and organized manner that contains accurate information and demonstrates responsive to assignments
  • Sound judgment and organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, improve workload functions, and streamline processes
  • Ability to develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date and effective databases, and to collaborate with other departments to obtain and provide relevant input into the databases required/needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, clearly and effectively
  • Ability and willingness to establish good rapport and professional working relationships with all staff and all external contacts
  • Proficiency in use of computers and software tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Mapping, Power Point, and other analytic tools and software programs
  • Ability to advocate for the organization's mission and outreach within the community and the University
  • Exhibits out of the box thinking
  • Extensive project management skills and knowledge with proven project management methodologies
  • Excellent organizational skills and capacity to manage many interrelated tasks
