This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends on applicants credentials.

Overview:

The Project Procurement Specialist is responsible for all procurement needs of complex projects, focusing on continual improvement, mentoring, and strategic leadership. This position supports engineering and construction, manages procurement processes, drives internal process improvements, and supports department growth and business development.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead changes to internal processes to improve team efficiency
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Take ownership of procurement needs for complex projects
  • Hold meetings to communicate procurement details
  • Order material specified by the engineering team for specific projects
  • Maintain material documentation, schedules, and bill of materials
  • Track order deliveries
  • Coordinate material deliveries and receiving
  • Provide recurring procurement updates to the project team
  • Process invoices for received material
  • Serve as the single point of contact for procurement
  • Support engineering and construction crews for additional procurement needs
  • Work with leadership teams for project portfolio and procurement team updates
  • Support department growth, networking, and business development activities

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance preferred)
  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Adapt, lead, and communicate new techniques in response to emerging challenges
  • Proficiency with advanced project procurement tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and leadership experience
  • Ability to manage complex projects and stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to move about the office or project site to attend meetings or gather information.
  • Occasional lifting of office materials or equipment (typically up to 20 pounds).
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and telephones.
  • Visual acuity to read and analyze data, spreadsheets, and computer screens.

Travel Requirements:

Travel may be required to project sites or vendor locations as needed.
