This position serves as the lead safety role for a long-term new build of a pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution center in Columbus, OH. The Project Safety Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the overall safety program for the duration of the project.
The role requires a strong on-site presence and close coordination with project management, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and site-specific safety requirements. This is a leadership position with full responsibility for safety performance across all phases of construction.Qualifications
OSHA 500 with 8+ years of construction safety experience
BCSP certification (CSP, CHST, or equivalent) with 6+ years of experienceAdditional Requirements
Ability to serve as the lead safety authority on a large-scale project
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical or industrial construction environments
Local to Columbus, OH preferred (no per diem available)Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the site safety program from project start through completion
  • Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and field observations
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and orientation sessions
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements
  • Serve as primary safety contact for client and project leadership
