Project Scheduler – Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support project planning and controls for transmission, distribution, substation, and telecommunications projects. The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle Primavera P6 experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple project schedules while working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 schedules using Oracle Primavera P6
- Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activities, and activity codes
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules
- Effectively utilize constraints, lags, and leads
- Generate P6 reports, layouts, and filters
- Identify schedule drivers, delays, risks, and opportunities
- Perform quality checks on project controls deliverables
- Communicate project schedule progress with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Integrate and analyze schedule data using Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, macros, Power Query, and Power BI
- Identify logic errors, sequencing issues, and incorrect activity durations
- Recommend schedule risk mitigation strategies
- Manage multiple schedules across different projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited program
- Minimum 3 years of related scheduling/project controls experience
- Strong experience with Oracle Primavera P6
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to travel as needed
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting transmission & distribution, substation, utility, or telecommunications projects
- Experience with resource-loaded schedules and project controls
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, macros, and Power BI
- Strong understanding of scheduling logic, critical paths, sequencing, and schedule risk
