Targeted HR Consulting is partnering with a respected and growing commercial general contractor serving the North Carolina market to identify an experienced Project Superintendent. The Project Superintendent will lead field operations from project startup through closeout while promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Projects include ground-up commercial office, healthcare, education, religious facilities, and historic renovation work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of project site safety and reinforce the company's safety-first culture.
Direct and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel throughout the construction process.
Develop and execute work plans for subcontractors and any self-performed work.
Manage daily project operations, workflow, site logistics, and overall jobsite organization.
Coordinate the care, custody, and control of the project site.
Conduct daily stand-up meetings, weekly subcontractor coordination meetings, and project progress meetings.
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Monitor project budgets, production, and costs using project management reporting tools as appropriate.
Communicate project updates with owners, architects, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, logs, schedules, drawings, inspections, and field records.
Review unit cost information and complete required production and tracking reports.
Monitor productivity of self-performed work and adjust resources as needed.
Coordinate project materials, equipment, and manpower requirements.
Approve employee timecards and ensure accurate labor reporting.
Ensure compliance with project specifications through quality control and QA/QC processes.
Lead punch list and project closeout activities while coordinating with owners, architects, and governing authorities.
Participate in project pre-planning efforts and collaborate with operations leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist with field staffing and resource planning for assigned projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $15 million or greater.
Ground-up commercial construction experience is strongly preferred.
At least 4 years of field leadership experience on commercial construction projects.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors while maintaining schedules, budgets, quality, and safety standards.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with construction scheduling, documentation, and project management systems.
