POSITION SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Prevention Manager, the Prevention Assistant will support the pre-planning, administration, implementation, and evaluation of South Salt Lake's Community Readiness Assessment (CRA) focused on opioid misuse prevention. The Prevention Assistant will assist with community outreach and engagement, including identifying and engaging community members and stakeholders, coordinating interviews and focus groups, supporting community discussions, organizing assessment materials, and assisting with data collection and evaluation activities. The position will also provide administrative and logistical support to ensure the successful planning and implementation of the CRA and related prevention initiatives. The Prevention Assistant position is a part time, temporary, unbenefited position of 20 hours per week at $22/hour, from October 2026 through December 2028.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESCommunity Readiness Assessment Planning and Administration1.1 Assist with the pre-planning and preparation of South Salt Lake's Community Readiness Assessment (CRA) on opioid misuse, including outreach, scheduling, materials preparation, and other administrative activities.1.2 Support the Prevention Manager in coordinating CRA activities, timelines, meetings, interviews, focus groups, and community discussions.1.3 Assist with identifying and engaging community members, stakeholders, and key informants who can participate in the CRA process.1.4 Maintain organized records, schedules, contact information, assessment materials, and other documentation related to the CRA.Community Engagement and Data Collection2.1 Conduct outreach and engage with community members and stakeholders in a respectful, culturally responsive, and professional manner.2.2 Assist with conducting and coordinating community interviews, focus groups, and discussions as part of the CRA process.2.3 Support the collection, organization, and documentation of information gathered through CRA interviews, focus groups, community discussions, and other assessment activities. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of work activities and CRA-related outcomes.2.4 Assist with community engagement activities designed to increase awareness and participation in the CRA process.Evaluation and Reporting Support3.1 Assist with organizing and reviewing information collected through the CRA process.3.2 Support the Prevention Manager with data entry, tracking, documentation, and preparation of materials related to CRA evaluation and reporting.3.3 Assist with identifying and documenting community feedback, themes, and observations relevant to community readiness and opioid misuse prevention.Prevention Program and Administrative Support4.1 Provide administrative and logistical support for prevention activities, meetings, trainings, community events, and other related initiatives as needed.4.2 Communicate regularly with the Prevention Manager regarding progress, challenges, scheduling, and upcoming responsibilities.4.3 Work independently to manage assigned responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet established deadlines.4.4 Participate in relevant prevention meetings, trainings, and community activities as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned.Please see attached pdf for full job description
