Responsibilities

* Thoroughly review and edit a wide range of documents for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
* Ensure consistency in style, formatting, and terminology across all company materials, including technical reports, project proposals, safety manuals, marketing content, and internal communications.
* Collaborate with various departments, including project management and sales, to refine content and ensure technical accuracy.
* Verify facts, figures, and technical specifications to guarantee the precision of all documentation.
* Assist in maintaining and updating the company's style guide to ensure a consistent and professional brand voice.
* Manage multiple proofreading tasks simultaneously, prioritising workload to meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.

Qualifications

* Proven professional experience as a proofreader, copy editor, or in a similar role.
* An exceptional command of the English language, with an expert understanding of grammar and punctuation.
* Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy.
* Excellent time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
* A degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is highly desirable.
* Previous experience proofreading technical or industry-specific content, particularly within the construction or engineering sectors, would be a significant advantage.
