LHH is assisting with a search for an Interim Accounting for a client in Kansas City, MO. In this role you will be responsible for providing interim support for up to 4-6 months to assist through busy season, with potential to go permanent for the right person. This role will manage property budgets, financial reconciliations, and onboarding new properties into our systems. Our ideal candidate will have commercial real estate accounting experience and be proficient in Yardi or MRI software. Read below for additional details.Key ResponsibilitiesBudget Management:Enter and maintain property budgets in Yardi or MRI.Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.Financial Operations:Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.Manage and reconcile CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges and expenses.Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records.Property Onboarding:Onboard new properties into Yardi or MRI, ensuring all data is correctly set up.Compliance & Reporting:Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations.Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.Work closely with property managers to resolve accounting issues.Communicate with tenants regarding billing and reconciliations.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredMinimum of 2-3 years of property or real estate accounting experience.Proficiency in Yardi or MRI property management software is required.Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations and commercial real estate accounting practices.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
