Property Accountant Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Maintain the general ledger, account reconciliations, and supporting workpapers for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties
• 
  
• The Property Accountant will prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• 
  
• Reconcile CAM charges and bill-backs and calculate tenant escalations in accordance with lease terms
• 
  
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances and support financial reporting initiatives
• 
  
• The Property Accountant will assist with quarterly and year-end financial statement preparation for investment funds
• 
  
• The Property Accountant will partner with operations, property management, and accounting teams to address accounting matters and improve processes

Qualifications of the Property Accountant Role

• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 
  
• 4+ years of real estate or property accounting experience
• 
  
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
• 
  
• Experience with property accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 
  
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
