Property Accountant
West Hartford, CT
$100,000 - $110,000 + bonus

What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of properties
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
- Track fixed assets and depreciation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support year-end audits and tax preparation
- Work closely with property managers and operational teams to provide financial insight
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MS or CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow professionally
