A private principal in Montecito is seeking an experienced, hands-on Property Caretaker / Companion to oversee the maintenance and care of a primary residence and provide thoughtful, day-to-day support. Key Responsibilities
Property Care & Maintenance
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules and perform general repairs
- Oversee vendors and maintain all household systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, smart home)
- Conduct regular property inspections and address maintenance needs
- Maintain supplies, deliveries, and organization of storage, garage, and utility areas
- Care for outdoor spaces, equipment, and seasonal items
Companion & Household Support
- Provide thoughtful daily support to the principal
- Run errands and assist with pet care
- Maintain vehicles, including cleaning and servicing
- Assist with light household tasks and general organization
Qualifications & Ideal Profile
- Experience in a similar caretaker or estate role with strong references
- Background in education, psychology, or a related field preferred
- Mechanically inclined with knowledge of home systems and technology
- Professional, discreet, and detail-oriented
- Strong judgment, organization, and ability to work independently
- Experienced in managing vendors and adaptable to changing needs
- Pet-friendly with a valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Schedule & Travel
- Full-time, generally Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and travel
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $55 – $75 per hour or $140,000 – $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience
