We're hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our property management team, covering a portfolio of residential properties across Pittsburgh. You'll work alongside a small team of techs, each responsible for roughly 50-70 units, with some collaboration on larger jobs and occasional rotation to other properties.


Responsibilities


  • Start each shift with a property walkthrough: pick up trash and debris, check behind buildings for unauthorized activity (loitering, sleeping, illegal dumping), and clean around dumpster areas
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and systems such as HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring; make repairs as needed
  • Inspect buildings for structural damage to windows, doors, and walls, and perform necessary repairs
  • Handle basic unit turns between tenants
  • Order and stock supplies for the maintenance storeroom
  • Keep records of completed repairs and equipment service history
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans to keep equipment running and reduce safety risks
  • Handle additional maintenance tasks as needed
Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Strong understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques
  • Available for on-call rotation, including nights and weekends
  • Strong work ethic, communication, time management, and attention to detail
Pay and Compensation


  • Base rate: $25/hr
  • On-call stipend: $100/week while on rotation
  • Call-out pay: time-and-a-half ($37.50/hr) for after-hours calls, 2-hour minimum
  • Certification pay bump for EPA 608, CPO, or applicable state electrical/plumbing licenses
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel between properties
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Health insurance; company pays half the premium
