Job Title: Apartment Building Manager / Property Manager
Job Summary
The Apartment Building Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance coordination, tenant relations, and financial oversight of an apartment building. This role ensures the property is well-maintained, fully leased, compliant with regulations, and provides a safe, clean, and positive living environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs
Coordinate and supervise vendors, contractors, and on-site staff
Conduct regular property inspections
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and local laws
Maintain cleanliness and curb appeal of common areas
Tenant Relations & Leasing
Market available units and conduct property tours
Screen prospective tenants and process applications
Prepare, execute, and enforce lease agreements
Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and conflict resolution
Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including inspections
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate tenant records and files
Respond to phone calls, emails, and service requests promptly
Prepare notices and correspondence for tenants
Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and company policies
Safety & Security
Monitor building security systems and safety procedures
Address safety hazards immediately
Coordinate emergency response when required
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in real estate, business, or management preferred)
Prior experience in property management, real estate, or facilities management preferred
Knowledge of landlord-tenant laws and fair housing regulations
