HKC Rockland County is a 105-acre property that is home to four children's day camps. Our seasonal operation provides maintenance and janitorial services, aquatics supervision and security to ensure a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for the camps and children we serve.Our philosophy is simple: great results start with great people. We provide our employees with the training, tools and support they need to achieve excellence.THE POSITIONThe Property Manager supervises a year-round staff of 3 and seasonal staff of approximately 15. You will lead, train, mentor and inspire your team while overseeing the daily and long-term care of the property.Responsibilities include:Lead, train, mentor and evaluate maintenance staff.Manage daily, weekly and long-term projects and work orders.Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for property, vehicles and equipmentOversee landscaping, grounds, buildings, pools, vehicles and equipment, all while promoting a strong culture of safetyThis is a hands-on leadership position, not solely a desk job. On any given day, you may be mowing, painting, repairing a vehicle, troubleshooting a water or sewage issue, removing trash or operating equipment such as a backhoe, tractor, skid steer, ride-on deck mower or 3-wheel groomer. The administrative function includes processing and documentation of work orders, ordering supplies and managing inventory, as well as managing employees to include ongoing feedback and evaluations. MANAGEMENT & SUPPORTThe Property Manager reports directly to the COO/CFO, who has extensive maintenance facility experience and is invested in the success of the Property Manager and the team. You will also have the support of the senior management team.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS5+ years of successful team management experience, such as a foreman, project manager, maintenance supervisor or similar leadership roleExperience with one or more of the following: Preventative maintenance with small engine and equipment repair, vehicle and machinery maintenance, landscaping and grounds maintenance, painting and carpentry, minor electric and or plumbing and pool maintenanceTraining, mentoring, evaluating employees and working hands-on alongside a teamComputer proficiency and experience using technologyA degree or certificate in property management, agronomy, landscape management, facilities management or a related field is a plus. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSWithin six months of hire, the Property Manager will be expected to obtain (at HKC's expense):OSHA 30 CertificationCPO (Certified Pool Operator) CertificationFirst Aid Certification MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT HKCAt HKC, maintaining the property is about more than fixing equipment and caring for the grounds.
