Job OverviewA Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a property, whether it be residential, commercial, or industrial. This role involves the management of tenants, property maintenance, and financial performance. Property Managers ensure that properties are well-maintained, comply with relevant laws and regulations, and meet the expectations of property owners. They often act as a liaison between property owners and tenants, addressing concerns and maintaining communication to foster a positive relationship.Property Manager Responsibilities & Duties
Collect rent and ensure timely paymentsHandle tenant inquiries and complaints
Conduct regular property inspectionsCoordinate property maintenance and repairs
Market properties and attract new tenantsConduct tenant screening and background checks
Prepare and manage budgets for property operationsNegotiate and enforce lease agreements
Maintain records of income, expenses, and leasesEnsure properties comply with local, state, and federal regulations
Handle eviction procedures when necessaryReport to property owners on the status of properties
Approve expenditures and maintain financial recordsOversee and manage property staff
Address emergency situations promptlyProperty Manager Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in real estate, business administration, or related field
Certified Property Manager (CPM) or similar certificationProven experience in property management
Strong negotiation and communication skillsProficiency in property management software
Ability to handle multiple properties simultaneouslyExcellent organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of local property regulations and lawsExperience in marketing and tenant acquisition
Financial management skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of experience in property management or related fieldAbility to work weekends and evenings if required
Strong interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite
