Job Summary
The Proposal Manager I position is responsible for activities associated with the successful completion of assigned Analyzer Systems Integration proposal packages, including RFQ and specification review and compliance, product selection, system architecture, cost estimation, and commercial risk analysis, in support of the company’s short- and long-term business objectives of providing accurate, timely, and high-quality customer proposals. This role requires coordination of technical and commercial design activities with sales personnel, engineering resources, project management, technical support consultants, and proposal department staff. The key objective of the position is to provide internal and external customers with quality proposal documents supported by accurate cost estimates and responsive customer service.
DUTIES/RESULTS:
proposal development, cost estimation, commercial evaluation, and risk analysis for small- to large-scale projects.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of process analyzers, including related sample systems, networking, hardware and software components, engineering and integration. Basic understanding of process analyzers. Understanding of sales / marketing procedures, including both technical and commercial proposal presentation. Experience with inter-departmental functions and relationship with regional areas.
Consistently demonstrates the ability to plan and execute, establish procedures, document, and set priorities.
Must have the ability to work independently, work well under deadline pressure, and use judgment in any phase of the proposal process.
Possess the capability to accurately interpret customer specifications and needs and apply the optimum technical solution.
Travel up to 10% in support of technical sales, including some international travel, may be required.
Education and/or Prior Experience:
· BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or technical discipline or equivalent experience. Work experience may be credited for a degree where appropriate.
· 10+ years of industrial control related experience with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in analyzer systems proposals, engineering or service. Experience with gas chromatographs or TDLS is preferred
· Working knowledge of industrial analyzer process automation systems, including shelters, racks, cabinets, and sample systems networking, hardware and software components, engineering and integration.
· Must have the ability to work independently, work well under deadlines, and use judgment in every phase of the estimation process.
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint is required. Advance knowledge of Lists and Planner, Excel Macros / scripting, Power Automate is preferred.
