Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation and our allies maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries.

As a Propulsion Engineering Intern, you will support the design development and testing of propulsion components and systems. You will work closely with engineers, manufacturing teams, and vendors to help bring propulsion hardware from concept through testing.

Summer around 10 weeks (May - August) Fall around 16 weeks (September - December)

Responsibilities • Support the design and development of propulsion components and systems from conceptual design through detailed mechanical design • Create and release engineering drawings and collaborate with manufacturing teams and external vendors to produce hardware • Assist in defining, configuring, and setting up propulsion test rigs • Support the execution and documentation of propulsion hardware testing and development activities

Minimum Requirements Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies, or projects. Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university, undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Masters or Ph.D. program.

Strong interest in propulsion systems design and testing. Strong understanding of engineering first principles.

Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.

Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus mission.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

GPA of 3.0 or above.

$25 - $33 per hour
