Job Posting Information

This is a specialized position in the City Attorneys Office, Prosecution Division. Responsibilities include administrative and clerical support to the division primarily by using the office's case management system in conjunction with law enforcement and court databases to create case files, maintain records, and generate documents. The position also provides administrative support to an assigned attorney or attorneys by assisting with caseload management through all stages of prosecution including contact with law enforcement, parties, and other attorneys, generation and e-filing of court documents, and general monitoring of the attorney's cases. Must have problem-solving and critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to work professionally with the public and outside agencies and to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Understanding of the prosecutorial function or the judicial system specifically as a legal assistant or secretary strongly desired.

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by courses in office technology and law or criminal justice, plus two years of clerical or administrative assistance experience in a law office or related legal capacity; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
