Production Planning Coordinator

Position reports to the Plant Manager. Employee filling this position is responsible accurate record keeping and computer information entry associated with Production Orders, reconciliation, and scheduling.

  • Utilizing SAP, shop floor, emails, the person filling this job creates daily production orders and distributes to supervisors and load out personal.
  • Schedules inbound appointments of trucks for raw receiving.
  • Yield tracking, inventory controls, sales volume scheduling.
  • Reviews daily Standard Operating Procedures and forwards relevant information to the appropriate manager or supervisor and load out team members.
  • Distributes Load sheets and pick up times via incoming mail.

Responsibility for Confidential Information: Must be able to follow policies e g; company code of business ethics and conduct, Internet email usage policies and password protection policies along with all accompanying polices regarding company assets and information.

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required

Work Experience: Prior computer skills a must

Technical Skills: Must have experience with SAP, Shop Floor, Microsoft Word, Excel

Language Skills: : Must possess the ability to communicate and/or read and understand documents such as production orders, PICK sheets, SOPS, safety rules, work rules, HACCP regulations, policy and/or procedure manuals.

Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide as needed.

Plant & Administrative Support

  • Provide direct support to the Plant Manager
  • Maintain and organize plant logs, records, and documentation
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations as needed
  • Assist with scheduling, meetings, and daily coordination

Purchasing & PO Management

  • Create and submit purchase requisitions
  • Receive and process purchase orders (POs)
  • Track orders and follow up with vendors and internal teams
  • Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping

Reporting & KPI Tracking

  • Pull and compile plant reports
  • Track and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Assist in analyzing data and identifying trends

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as a liaison between operations, HR, and leadership
  • Support plant communication and engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate plant events, meetings, and cross-functional activities

HR Support

  • Assist with onboarding coordination and employee documentation
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates
  • Support HR-related administrative tasks within the plant

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 1+ years of administrative, coordinator, or plant support experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
  • Familiarity with purchasing systems and PO processes
  • Experience tracking KPIs or working with reports
  • Basic HR knowledge or experience

Reporting Structure

  • This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is also overseen by the HR supervisor.

Work Environment

  • On-site position

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Occasional Saturdays based on plant needs, projects, or engagement activities
  • Must have flexibility to support business needs as required
