Job Title: Prototype Operator
Location: Duluth, MN
Compensation: $23.00 per hour - paid weekly

DohertyStaffing Solutions is hiring Prototype Operators for a leading manufacturing supplier located in Duluth, MN. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and want reliable hours with weekly pay, this job could be a great fit. Read below for more information!What You'll Do as the Prototype Operator:
  • Assemble prototype units and customer samples using minimal documentation such as sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, and verbal instructions.
  • Assemble and test products for production jobs, supporting pre-production and manufacturing needs.
  • Perform testing and data collection on prototypes and pre-production units to support validation and development.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing teams during new product introduction (NPI) into production.
  • Assist with the design and improvement of tooling and manufacturing documentation.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and manufacturing as parts transition from NPI to full production.
  • Identify and communicate quality issues or risks that could impact product quality or delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and engineering objectives.
What You Need to Bring to the Prototype Operator Role:
  • 4-6 years of related manufacturing or prototype assembly experience.
  • Strong skills in assembly of magnetic components.
  • Experience with assembly processes including hand soldering, winding, wire stripping, lead termination, and general magnetics assembly best practices.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, CAD drawings, diagrams, and verbal instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on semi-routine tasks while recognizing when deviations from standard practices are necessary.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat, or mild chemicals and to use required safety equipment.
