Description
Job Title: Prototype Quality Technician
Shift: Day shift: 8am-5pm (Monday-Friday)
Pay range: $21/hr
Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs and precision measuring equipment.
- Program and operate Romer CMMs using PolyWorks.
- Inspect prototype parts, assemblies, and welds to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, control plans, and inspection documents.
- Perform weld certifications, macro analysis, and sample preparation.
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and supplier quality inspections and audits.
- Manage gage calibration and Gage R&R using GageTrak software.
- Maintain inspection records using Struers software and Microsoft Office.
- Support 8D problem-solving, continuous improvement, and quality initiatives.
- Train and support production teams on quality standards and inspection requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and quality systems.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of quality assurance or metrology experience in manufacturing.
- 3+ years of CMM programming experience using Romer CMMs and PolyWorks.
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T, and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with PPAP, GageTrak, weld inspection, and automotive manufacturing is preferred.
- Weld and forklift certifications are a plus.
