Help provide wayfinding and guest assistance to visitors at garden. May also assist with
- handing out event maps or programs, or using QR codes.
- Answer general visitor questions about campus locations, available amenities, seasonal highlights and current exhibits/experiences
- Welcome and orient arriving school and self-guided tour groups
- Stay apprised of all current activities, exhibits, and special events on campus, as well as the weekly list of "What's In Bloom," when appropriate
Ideal candidates will:
- Be comfortable and enjoy working with the public
- Physical ability to stand or sit in the same place for extended periods of time
- Familiarity with the Botanical Garden campus and grounds preferred
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and ability to adapt as needed
- Demonstrate respect for the diversity of people and nature
Days and times needed:
- Shifts are typically from 9:30am -1pam on high-attendance weekdays and weekends, with some afternoon shifts as appropriate. Weekend shifts include: Saturday 12:45pm-4:15pm and Sunday 11:30pm-3:30pm
- Volunteers are free to select whatever shifts work for them but must fill a minimum of two shifts per month, or an annual total of 24 shifts if only available seasonally. Additional shifts will be available as needed for special events and programs.
