Overview
Job Summary
Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient's health problems and service in various settings as researchers, consultants and patient advocates for individuals, families, groups and communities. Performs compressive assessments, and diagnoses, and manages illness and disease. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
• Performs comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Develops and implements evidence-based plans of care in collaboration with supervising
radiologists.
• Evaluates patient medical history, medications, allergies (including contrast media), and
laboratory data (e.g., renal function, coagulation parameters) to assess procedural risk.
• Obtains informed consent, ensuring patients understand indications, risks, benefits, and
alternatives.
• Assists with and performs minimally invasive, image-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, drain
placements, vascular access) under radiologist supervision and within APP scope of practice and
credentialing.
• Provides moderate sedation in accordance with hospital policy (if credentialed).
• Performs post-procedure assessments, manages complications, and communicates findings to
referring teams.
• Writes orders, prescribes medications, orders diagnostic tests, and interprets results consistent
with practice authority.
• Educates patients and families on pre-, intra-, and post-procedure expectations and care
requirements.
• Provides discharge instructions, follow-up planning, and care coordination with referring providers.
• Practices according to state/federal regulations, organizational policies, and clinical guidelines.
• Collaborates with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other health care professionals to
optimize workflow and patient outcomes.
• Supports quality improvement projects, performance benchmarks, and departmental initiatives.
• Supports lifelong learning, engages in continuing education, and contributes to APP professional
development.
• Completes documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with regulatory and institutional requirements.

Education

Either a Masters or Doctoral level
as a nurse practitioner OR
Graduate of an accredited
Physician Assistant program.
