The Clinical Dietitian works with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide patient care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives. This position is responsible for assessing the nutritional status, identifying nutrition concerns, and developing, implementing and evaluating outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients at nutritional risk. This position may provide nutritional support to patients in specialized populations. This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to State Law.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized nutrition assessment, counseling, and education, for management of health conditions to University of Utah Employees and students, and community members.
  • Delivers and supports behavior change and nutrition programs within OCIH Whole Person Health including but not limited to: Diabetes Prevention Program, the New You, Hands-on Cooking Classes, One Day Wellness, and the Intensive Lifestyle Program.
  • Maintain Registered Dietitian Credential through Commission on Dietetic Registration (75 CEUs/cycle)
  • Maintain license as Certified Dietitian with Division of Professional Licensing- Utah

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Current License to practice as a Certified Dietitian in the State of Utah.

Preferred:

  • Two years of clinical/practical experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) Training.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
