Responsibilities/Qualifications About the Role Intrado is seeking a PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point or 911 Call Center) Services Technician to join our Life & Safety team. This position supports the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of 911 call handling and dispatch systems at customer sites throughout the United States. Travel is required and across the USA. The ideal candidate is technically curious, enjoys travel, customer-focused, and excels at troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues in a mission-critical environment. Essential Duties Assist with the installation and configuration of 911 call handling and public safety communications systems. Travel to customer sites to perform software installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Support system testing and verification activities before and after deployment. Troubleshoot software, hardware, networking, and integration issues while following established procedures. Provide basic onsite and remote support to customers. Assist with customer training on assigned products and systems. Collect and maintain installation documentation and project records. Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineering teams as appropriate. Adhere to established installation procedures, safety requirements, and company policies. Participate in ongoing technical training and product certification programs. Education Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience will be considered. Experience 2+ years of technical customer service, technical support, field service, help desk, telecommunications, or related experience. 1+ year of experience supporting software installations, system deployments, or technical training. 2+ years of experience working with Windows-based servers, workstations, or networking technologies. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively. Preferred Experience with SQL or Oracle databases. Experience with VoIP, SIP, telecommunications, or public safety technologies. Knowledge of structured cabling, Cat5e/Cat6, RJ45 terminations, and network connectivity. Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft certifications. Basic telephony experience, including POTS, SIP, MDFs, or punch-downs.
