    STG International is seeking qualified candidates for the Psychologist position to work full-time providing health care to detainees in custody in support of ICE Health Service Corps at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Medical Facility.INTRODUCTION:The ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) exists within the organizational structure of the UnitedStates Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations(ERO) under the supervision of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The United StatesPublic Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps Officers, civil service staff and contractorscomprise the healthcare professionals working together to provide quality healthcare services.IHSC serves as the medical experts for ICE for detainee health care.MISSION:IHSCs mission is to provide medical care to maintain the health of individuals in the custody ofICE through an integrated health care delivery system, based on nationally recognizedcorrectional, detention and residential health care standards. The Agency is committed toproviding healthcare services to protect the nations health, reduce global disease and providemedical support for the law enforcement mission of the safe apprehension, enforcement andremoval of detained individuals involved in immigration proceedings.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provides direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice and performs functions inaccordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing and or grantedprivileges.2. Provides treatment of persons throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline andfacility setting.3. May be expected to respond to and or coordinate response to medical emergencies.4. Provides psychological assessment and evaluations.5. Provides appropriate referral to outside treatment facilities for those cases of extremelysevere mental disturbance.6. Provides referral, identification, and evaluation for those identified as having a significantmental illness using Mental Health Review Form (IHSC-883).7. Provides on-site counseling, psychotherapy, behavioral analysis, substance abuse education,and therapy as required.8. Possesses a high level of skill in assessing, recognizing, and treating problems of adjustment,and maladaptive behavior or other conditions which interfere with successful treatment; referringsuch patients to the appropriate mental health facility for intensive mental health care.9. Determines the need for and provide direct mental health services to patients with identifiedmental health and substance abuse problems utilizing psycho educational and treatmentmodalities as appropriate in the treatment of mental disorders.10. Will assist the Clinical Director, Staff Physician or Clinical Services Manager/designees inproviding orientation and guidance to medical staff on Detoxification of Chemically Dependentindividuals and actions to take if a person is suspected of being chemically dependent on drugsor alcohol upon intake or during custody.11. Reports status to a physician or psychiatrist if the expected outcome of drug therapy is notbeing achieved.12. Utilizes the multi-disciplinary approach in the treatment planning process for detaineesidentified with mental health problems.13.Provides consultation to medical, ICE, contract staff regarding issues that include, but are notlimited to risk assessment for violence, housing recommendations for handling difficult,demanding, and mentally ill persons.14.Serves as a mental health and substance abuse consultant to other health professionals at thefacility.15.Provides education and training to ICE and medical staff in the area of mental health toinclude, but not limited to, suicide prevention, hunger strike, abuse and neglect and victims oftorture.16.Facilitates contacts between the patient and his/her social support systems.17.Establishes and maintains liaison with other health services professionals and mental healthorganizations.18.Performs record keeping functions in accordance with program policies and position.19.Maintains functional proficiency and ease of use utilizing electronic health records asrequired by, and appropriate to, position.20.Completes and passes all discipline specific competencies testing, initially and annually.21.Completes all initial, annual and ad hoc training as required/assigned.22.Maintains patient confidentiality, and confidentiality of medical records, in compliance withthe Privacy Act and HIPAA regulations in all work activities.23.Adheres to, and maintains awareness of, IHSC Policies, Procedures, Directives, OperationalMemoranda and accreditation standards as prescribed by ICE/IHSC.24.Adheres to, and participates in, IHSCs Safety, Prevention, Infection and Control, QualityImprovement, Patient Education and other programs and collateral duties as appropriate toposition.25.Attends and participates in general/medical staff meetings.26.Other duties as assigned.DUTY HOURS/ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS:IHSC operates 365/24/7 you may be required to respond telephonically during emergency callback roster activation.1.This full time position is required to provide rotational on-call coverage and may need toreturn to the facility during non-core hours to provide care.2.This full time position requires availability to work day and evening shifts. Availabilityduring weekends and holidays is also required.SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:1.The Department of Homeland Securitys Personnel Security Unit (PSU) must render aPreliminary Favorable Fitness Determination to be considered a qualified candidate.2.A Complete Favorable Fitness Determination must be rendered by PSU upon completion ofinitial and subsequent background investigations to meet the requirements of this position.
