Psych Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - FQHC

A healthcare organization is seeking a Psych Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a role in New York City, NY. This position provides comprehensive care in a community-based ambulatory setting.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: M-F, with Saturday coverage as needed

• Hours: Flexible beyond a 40-hour work week

• Setting: Ambulatory care

Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, plan, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive care for patients
• Conduct physical exams for new and current patients
• Provide evaluation and treatment of patients during acute illness, new complaints, or symptom onset; manage chronic illnesses
• Determine the need for and facilitate referrals to other medical specialists when warranted
• Evaluate patients' plans of care and revise as appropriate
• Provide preventive health maintenance including immunizations, screenings, and monitoring of pertinent indicators
• Prescribe and adjust medications within the scope of prescriptive authority and current practice guidelines
• Order, facilitate, and review diagnostic examinations such as laboratory and radiology services

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Advanced Practice
• Board certification through ANCC or AANPCB for Psych Nurse Practitioner certification
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• 2-5 years of experience in an ambulatory care setting serving a diverse population
• Strong professional oral and written communication skills
