Job Description
A healthcare organization is seeking a Psych Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a role in New York City, NY. This position provides comprehensive care in a community-based ambulatory setting.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: M-F, with Saturday coverage as needed
Hours: Flexible beyond a 40-hour work week
Setting: Ambulatory care
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, plan, coordinate, and evaluate comprehensive care for patients
- Conduct physical exams for new and current patients
- Provide evaluation and treatment of patients during acute illness, new complaints, or symptom onset; manage chronic illnesses
- Determine the need for and facilitate referrals to other medical specialists when warranted
- Evaluate patients' plans of care and revise as appropriate
- Provide preventive health maintenance including immunizations, screenings, and monitoring of pertinent indicators
- Prescribe and adjust medications within the scope of prescriptive authority and current practice guidelines
- Order, facilitate, and review diagnostic examinations such as laboratory and radiology services
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Advanced Practice
- Board certification through ANCC or AANPCB for Psych Nurse Practitioner certification
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- 2-5 years of experience in an ambulatory care setting serving a diverse population
- Strong professional oral and written communication skills
