Position Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Department: Primary Care Behavioral Health
Reports To: Clinical Director
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides psychiatric services to patients facility-wide, as directed by the Clinical Director.
HOURS
40 hours per week.

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
Participates in the formulation and update of policies, procedures, and protocols for the NP role in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Psychiatrist.
In accordance with written protocols, performs comprehensive evaluations and assessments, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and examinations, furnishing medication, including psychotropic medications, and takes responsibility for such therapy.
Documents in the client's record goals, interventions, and clinical outcomes, in sufficient detail that any psychiatrist can review and evaluate the effectiveness of the care being provided.
Consults with staff to make referrals to other mental health or health care providers as needed.
Identifies possible infections, report, and document as appropriate; initiate standard precautions if needed.
Other duties as assigned.
