Solana Staffing Solutions is a boutique recruitment firm placing contract nurses and therapists in behavioral healthcare facilities throughout Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Nevada and Texas. We are seeking a Psychiatric RN (Registered Nurse, Psychiatric Nurse) for a travel assignment at our partner facility. Roles include acute inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings.

Duties: The Psychiatric Nurse (RN) will provide professional nursing care to patients according to hospital policy and procedure; will assess patient, plan and implement nursing care procedures, evaluate patient progress and modify care plans as necessary; administer medication, and manage other treatments for patients; provide education to patients and their families; identify risks factors and intervene as necessary; direct and supervise the work of nursing support staff.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health and regulations
Medical and psychological terminology.
Medications, including psychotropic drugs, and effects on psychiatric patients. Control, preparation, and administration of medications.
Displays basic knowledge of treatment procedures; interventions common to acute psychotic as well as non-violent crises intervention practice, and medical and psychiatric emergency procedures.
Clinical skills in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; skills in facilitating and/or co-facilitating process-oriented and didactic groups.
Requirements:
Licenses: Must have an active RN license in good standing in the state of practice.
Education: ADN or BSN from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare setting, phone triage, telehealth, case management, or a combination of education and experience. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certifications: BLS and De-escalation certifications a plus (provided during training)
Additional: Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Screening: Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical and be able to provide positive employment references.
