Division: Within the SFF Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric services are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana
ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and positive individual to join our team as a Psych Aide 3!
Minimum Qualifications
Eighteen months of experience in providing behavioral health or developmentally disabled services, or psychiatric patient care; OR
Nine semester hours of college coursework in a social sciences field, education, social work, child guidance, or nursing; OR
One year of experience in providing behavioral health or developmentally disabled services or psychiatric patient care plus a Behavioral Health Aide Diploma from a vocational technical college with an approved curriculum from the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
Attend, report, and accepts patient care assignment for assigned shift.
Maintain a therapeutic environment, correctly identifies patient growth and development stage, and communicates according to level of understanding, stage of growth and development.
Ensure patient safety and demonstrates ability to identify potential or real safety hazards, corresponding to individual patient stage of growth and development.
Escort patients to campus activities, off-grounds appointments and provides level of observation assigned to patient during escort; provides accountability of assigned patient at all times; documents patient location every 30 minutes; assists patient with activities of daily living, personal clothing care, daily household chores, daily hygiene.
Conduct patient groups under the direction of RN staff and documents patient participation; participates in treatment team staffing, provides nursing input and notifies appropriate personnel when patient conditions or behaviors change.
Perform routine nursing duties according to level of competency and within licensure guidelines and documents findings or patient's responses accurately and timely.

Compensation: This position is eligible for an SER rate of $13.91 an hour or $1112.80 bi-weekly
