What you'll do at DBH

Patient Care Leadership

  • Coordinate and oversee psychiatric and medical nursing services for adult forensic patient populations.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that supports treatment goals and recovery outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote continuity of care and effective treatment planning.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff through scheduling, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentorship, and address employee relations issues as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes staff engagement and excellence in patient care.

Policy & Procedure Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with standards related to patient care, infection prevention, workplace safety, and quality improvement.
  • Support the implementation and communication of new policies and best practices.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure nursing operations comply with all applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, including CMS and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain regulatory readiness.
  • Monitor patient care practices and documentation to ensure compliance and quality outcomes.

Resource & Operations Management

  • Manage staffing levels and allocate nursing resources to meet patient care needs effectively.
  • Oversee the utilization of equipment, supplies, and other departmental resources.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify operational needs and support efficient department performance.

Leadership & Professional Excellence

  • Serve as a clinical leader and mentor for nursing staff.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous learning.

This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of 15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm, can vary depend on operational needs (Must be able to work weekend and holiday rotation). Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
