Opportunity Description

SimiTree Talent Solutions is a leading search firm for the Behavioral / Mental Health industry. Our client is a well-established and growing mental health organization looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a small inpatient hospital with a focus on detoxification in the Albion, IN area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with substance abuse disorders and detox protocols.
• Working knowledge of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria for patient placement, level of care, and continued stay/transfer determinations.
• Expertise in protocols for safely detoxifying patients from alcohol, opioids, and sedatives.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Indiana license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC) or national PA certification (NCCPA).
• Active Indiana Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration with the specific schedule privileges required to prescribe controlled substances used in withdrawal management and stabilization.

 
Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, diagnostic assessments, medication histories, and suicide, homicide, violence, elopement, withdrawal, and self-harm risk assessments.
• Provide medical stabilization and acute withdrawal management for patients during a 3-4 day stay in inpatient hospital.
• Conduct immediate physical and psychiatric histories to assess the client's current level of intoxication, drug combinations, and risk of severe withdrawal.
• Order specific scheduled comfort medications and tapering regimens (e.g., tapering benzodiazepine schedules for alcohol/sedative detox, or buprenorphine/clonidine protocols for opioid withdrawal).

 
The compensation scale listed is a general salary range and is not intended to represent the actual annual or hourly compensation rate for this role. An offer will be made to the selected candidate at the conclusion of the interview process based on their relevant experience and the responsibilities of the position.
