Cordial Health is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in teh NYC, New York area.
This position offers meaningful work with an underserved adult and geriatric population, provider autonomy, a predictable weekday schedule, and comprehensive clinical and operational support. No weekend work is required.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and follow-up visits
• Diagnose and manage psychiatric, behavioral, cognitive, and neuropsychiatric conditions
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications
• Evaluate treatment response, medication effectiveness, and behavioral stability
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, social workers, residents, and families
• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and staff regarding diagnoses and treatment
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed, resident-centered care
Requirements
• Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA) with significant psychiatric experience
• Active and unrestricted New York license
• Active DEA registration required
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and treatment planning
• Ability to independently manage an in-person psychiatric caseload while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
• Experience in psychiatry, skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, geriatrics, or post-acute care preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, clinical reasoning, and relationship-building skills
