Position Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: 101 Bodin Circle, Bldg 777 , Travis AFB, CA 94535
Duration: 12 months
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30-6:30.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Degree/Education
Degree: Associates Degree of Nursing, or a baccalaureate degree (BSN) program in nursing accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a registered nurse.
Board Certification:
Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health NP by a nationally recognized certifying body.
Licensure:
Possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
The license must be in good standing, with no pending or adverse actions in the last 10 years and must meet the specific requirements for an unrestricted license as defined in DHA PM 6025.13.
Maintains all continuing education and training requirements necessary to keep licensure and certifications current at no additional cost to the government.

Primary Clinical Duties

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including performing physical exams, health histories, and diagnostics to formulate accurate diagnoses.

• Develop and implement evidenced based treatment including medication management and supportive psychotherapy for mental, behavioral, and addictive disorders.

• Conduct specialized, service-specific military evaluations (e.g., Commander Directed, MEB) and communicate findings and impact on a patient's career to the patient and command teams in accordance with established guidance.

• Provide health promotion and education as an adjunct to clinical care.

Documentation & Administration

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for all clinical encounters, patient communications, and care coordination activities within the electronic health record, in accordance with all applicable professional body, DoD/W, DHA, and MTF policies, standards, and guidance.

Clinical Guidance & Team Collaboration

• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to nurses, therapists, technicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and standards of care.

• Lead interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and serve as a clinical subject matter expert for case consultations.

• Recommend delegation of clinical duties appropriate to the skill level and scope of practice of team members.

• Regularly consult with primary care providers, military command teams, and other relevant stakeholders on patient care and operational safety in accordance with relevant guidance.

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Adhere to all professional standards of care and practice guidelines established by the DoD/W, DHA, and the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) with particular attention to patient safety and suicide risk management mandates.

• Recognize and respond to acute patient safety risks, including intoxication, withdrawal, suicidality and potential for harm, in accordance with established policies and protocols.

• Maintain productivity and quality of care in accordance with facility policies and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with programs such as EEO and Infection Control.

Professional Development

• Complete and maintain all required state/federal licensures, certifications, and mandatory MTF-specific training.

• Engage in self-evaluation and peer review,

• May conduct or participate in process improvements to support enhancement of clinical practices and patient outcomes, as authorized
