Our client, a prestigious academic and healthcare institution dedicated to serving a diverse urban community, is hiring a full-time Addiction Psychiatrist. The Addiction Psychiatrist will play a crucial leadership role within a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality clinical care and contributing to the development of a newly launched Residency Training Program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a major clinical and educational environment, emphasizing patient-centered care, medical education, and curricular innovation in addiction psychiatry. This position offers a unique chance to impact both community health and future psychiatric practitioners.
Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care in outpatient addiction treatment settings.
Provide consultation services to patients in hospital emergency departments, outpatient clinic and inpatient units.
Prescribe and manage medications for individuals with substance use disorders.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment planning.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and refinement of educational curricula for residency training.
Provide mentorship and supervision to residents and medical students.
Participate in institutional committees and quality improvement initiatives aimed at advancing addiction treatment and education.
Requirements
MD degree from an accredited institution.
Board certification in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.
Valid New York State medical license, Medicaid number, and DEA registration.
Demonstrated interest in medical education and curriculum development.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Additional qualifications such as experience with diverse populations or research in addiction are advantageous but not mandatory.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
