*This position is located at the Monterey County Jail. Seeking full-time or part-time candidates to fill in the hours of Monday-Friday 6a-230p OR 7a-330p. MUST have an active CA licensure and CA DEA.*
 
Pay: $200/hr
 
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team and provide the best patient care in a correctional environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality mental health care to patients and contributing to their overall well-being, as well as working and communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Health Services Administrator and the Mental Health Director in the coordination of the mental health care delivery system
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients, as well as follow-up and chronic care appointments
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Provide education about their treatment and ensure comprehension
  • Manage crisis situations effectively by conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate level of care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Stay current on advancements in psychiatry and behavioral health practices
 
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Board certification in Psychiatry
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of California and active DEA 
  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient care
  • Experience in crisis management and behavioral health interventions
