Job Title: Psychiatrist Job Summary The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services within a state-operated hospital facility. This role serves in a clinical leadership capacity, guiding interdisciplinary treatment teams and ensuring coordinated care for individuals with mental health conditions, including persistent and severe mental illness. The Psychiatrist collaborates with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans. This role also supports program development, patient care oversight, and compliance with institutional and medical governance standards. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Treatment Planning * Lead treatment planning and provide clinical direction for interdisciplinary treatment teams. * Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans to ensure coordinated patient care. * Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment strategies. * Provide psychiatric services including diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and medication management. Patient Evaluation & Diagnosis * Gather and maintain patient information and medical records, including social and medical histories obtained from patients, family members, or other professionals. * Analyze patient data and diagnostic test findings to determine the nature and extent of mental disorders. * Provide accurate psychiatric diagnoses and appropriate treatment interventions. * Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Documentation & Compliance * Maintain detailed clinical documentation and patient records to ensure compliance with medical standards and institutional policies. * Ensure adherence to medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations. * Participate in program evaluation, treatment planning, and clinical oversight . Professional Governance & Institutional Support * Participate in hospital committees and governance activities, contributing expertise to support institutional objectives. * Assist in program development and implementation related to psychiatric services. * Contribute to research initiatives and policy development affecting psychiatric programs and services. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement * Work closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support treatment outcomes. * Partner with federal, state, and local public agencies, community organizations, and healthcare stakeholders when required. * Support training and supervision of students, residents, or interns.
