We are currently seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team supporting the Loma Linda VA Healthcare System, providing essential mental health services to our nation’s Veterans.


About the Role

In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care that truly makes an impact.


What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Provide medication management and monitor patient progress
  • Deliver crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies
  • Perform suicide risk assessments and safety planning
  • Provide psychotherapy and other therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, psychologists, and medical staff
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation (VA standards)
  • Provide care across multiple settings (inpatient, outpatient, ED, telehealth)
  • Support training and mentorship of residents (if applicable)
  • Participate in on-call coverage as needed

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Psychiatry residency
  • Active, unrestricted medical license
  • Ability to complete AMI credentialing requirements

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs, etc.)
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records
