KARE CENTER in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist (MD) to join our growing multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, evidence-based treatment, and ongoing mental health management for a diverse patient population. You will work alongside primary care providers, therapists, and specialists to deliver integrated, whole-person care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations, diagnostic interviews, and psychosocial assessments.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy referrals, and community resources.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy and adjusting regimens as clinically indicated.
Provide consultations to primary care providers and specialists regarding psychiatric diagnoses and medication management.
Conduct crisis assessments and facilitate appropriate levels of care including hospitalization when necessary.
Collaborate with therapists, social workers, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Provide brief psychotherapy and psychoeducation to patients and families as clinically appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology).
Active Michigan medical license (or eligibility to obtain) and DEA registration.
Experience in outpatient, community mental health, or integrated care settings preferred.
Strong psychopharmacology knowledge and commitment to evidence-based practice.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
